The trekयात्रा
The road now reaches deep into the Marsyangdi valley, so we drive to Dharapani and start walking where the trail is still a trail.
Upper Pisang and Ngawal take the high route into Manang, which is better for the views and better for acclimatisation.
After the pass we walk down through Kagbeni, soak at Tatopani and finish with sunrise on Poon Hill.

Questionsप्रश्न
What if snow closes the Thorong La?
The pass closes a few days a year. We wait at Thorong Phedi if a clear day is forecast; otherwise we turn back via Manang and the guide re-plans the second half.
Is there a road on the circuit?
Yes, on parts of it. This itinerary drives past the dustiest road sections and walks the older trails where they still exist.
